Premier Custom Trough

Railway Trough

Trough Assembly

Attach one assembly clip to each side wall and one to the base. Slide the next trough section into the open portion of the assembly clip. This will maintain the alignment and stability of the installation.

The lifting of the trough is either to be done by hand for short sections or with lifting straps for longer sections.

Assemble trough sections relative to the grade line. Position sections on the trench base, adding material as required to maintain proper elevation. Cut sections to length as required using a crosscut saw. A keyhole saw or hole saw may be used for rounded holes or slots, as required for cable exit/entrance. When trough sections are in place, install lids before backfilling the trench.

With lids installed, backfill trench with ballast (1 ½ to 2 inches) in layers of four to six inches, compacting each layer. Work both sides of the installed trough to avoid displacing the section. Failure to properly compact the backfill may result in shifting of trough sections.

PLEASE NOTE:

Premier Custom Trough cannot assume responsibility for failure to observe reasonable handling and construction practices during installation. The use of appropriate ballast material is suggested.

During construction if work areas are exposed to heavy vehicular traffic, take appropriate action to protect exposed sections and trenches, covering such areas with heavy steel plate or other suitable material.
